FAQ

  • Does Kids Division run end of year concerts?

No we don’t offer end of year concerts. Our Group Classes term runs in 8 week blocks where children develop and grow their skills building to a term outcome. Families are invited to attend this mini performance in what we call an Open Session.

It is an informal performance outcome showing what the children has been focussing on and building towards over the 8 week arc. Children are welcome to continue into the following term however content is different each term.

Students enrolled in our private lessons are offered two optional performance outcomes. Our Singing Soiree at the end of Term 2 and Term 4 is a Program highlight. Families are invited to watch the children in sing solo accompanied by an accompanist. These concerts are performed at our studio in Flemington.

  • My child would like to continue beyond one term. Will there be growth in their training if each term is run as an 8 week arc.

While each term works towards it’s individual goals, there is an overall technical plan for each Class Level. The outcome project may vary however the overall goals are in place from the top of the year to help lay and build a solid technical grounding.

However, student’s growth, comfort and inspiration is our priority therefore the program is often fined tuned to cater to the individual strengths and needs of that particular cohort.

  • Do you require children to wear a uniform or is there a costume fee?

Children are free to wear whatever they can comfortably move in and whatever expresses their own individuality.. All classes are physical in some way, whether it be through movement, dance, stretching, or Improv / game work, children will need to clothes that don’t limit their movement.

Closed toe shoes must be worn at all times.

Costumes are not required for our performance outcomes. Our focus is on training and want to reduce that expense for parents.

Some children have chosen to pull things from their wardrobe to add a hint to their characters in the performance outcome. This not compulsory nor anything that requires parents to purchase anything.

  • Do you charge GST?

Yes GST is added to each class.

Payment for group classes will include GST in the final amount owing through the Studio’s Online Booking System.

Private Lessons are invoiced per term and sent through prior to term commencing.. GST is added to the singing lesson fees.

  • Are there any hidden costs?

In Group classes, there are no extra fees on top of the Term Fee (plus GST). There are no costume charges or ticketing charges for open classes.

In Private lessons, there is a $15 fee each Singing Soiree performer pays to contribute to the hiring of the pianist for rehearsal and performance. For Soirees without a pianist, there is no performance fee.

Singing Soiree Audience tickets are $5.
